Job Description
Reporting to the Senior General Manager, the Warehouse Manager will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and site functions. Maintain and improve performance levels both in terms of service and financial control. Responsible for ensuring shift supervisors have all staff, equipment and information that they need to operate through the shift.
Salary: £58,000 to £62,000 per annum DOE
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 06.30-16.30
Key Duties of a Warehouse Manager:
Leading, motivating and engaging Warehouse Operatives through a team of Shift Supervisors and Team Leaders
Ensure colleague resource is planned to meet operational requirements at all times, without incurring unnecessary cost/service levels to the operation
Produce, analyse and provide feedback on daily, weekly and monthly reports relating to performance and finance
Managing Health and Safety and Compliance within the warehouse and site
Managing British Retail Consortium (BRC) Standards and accreditation for the warehouse and site
Managing compliance to site Food Safely, Legality and Quality
Managing and maintaining all site facilities, buildings and yard
Manage all site facility and maintenance contractor requirements
Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits
Undertake regular audits to ensure warehouse and site adherence to BRC, Food Safety, Health and Safety standards and requirements
Overall responsibility for ensuring Warehouse SLAs and KPIs are met, and costs controlled
To tour warehouse and site each day / night with shift supervisor, giving guidance and direction on compliance, cleanliness and tidiness
Undertake regular daily site walks undertaking legal and compliance checks
Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained at all times
Ensure that all requirements for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Compliance policies and standards are met by delivering effective coaching and guidance to new and existing site colleagues
Brief and coach site teams on updated or new ways of working, standards, how to guides, risk assessments, safe systems of work and SHEQ alerts
Deliver and co-ordinate all Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Compliance Standard related events/updates to new and existing colleagues
With the support of the appropriate central departments provide coaching and guidance to the site management and supervisory teams to comply with internal and external audit requirements and close out any non-conformance requirements after audit
Ensure Fire Safety Standards, tests and drill requirements and Fire Risk Assessment Report actions are completed
Undertake and manage regular review of site risk assessments, safe systems of work, method statements and contractor permits to work
Identify and review compliance key performance indicators and suggest improvements and efficiencies to better meet business/legal requirements
Manage all site compliance document control requirements, corrective and preventative actions and trend analysis
Implement a culture of continuous improvement
The effective and efficient relationship between Fowler Welch and ISS on site in Teynham, working together
Qualifications
Extensive management experience in a warehouse/site function within an FMCG environment
Excellent team management and customer relationship skills
Previous people management experience - leading, motivating and managing a team
A passion for teamwork, coaching & mentoring
Knowledge of working to Health & Safety standards
Drive improvement to Health and Safety culture
Computer literate including WMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Able to work efficiently within a high pressurised environment
A highly confident and proactive individual able to represent the Company and customers.
