POSITION: ULTRASONOGRAPHER Traveler ContractPOSITION DETAILS Minimum hours required: 36 per week;guaranteedMaximum hours: 40 per week (overtime will be approved asneeded) The shifts associated with this position will be staffed atthe Main Hospital location in York ME. The shifts associated withthis position could include 3 12 hour days including call on variedweeknights and every 45th weekend. Schedule will be known inadvance monthly. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Staff members provide careappropriate to the condition and age of patients includinggeriatric pediatric and general population. Staff is responsiblefor the care and safety of patients and maintaining patientconfidentially at all times. Staff is responsible for communicatingthe mission and vision of the hospital as well as developingeffective working relationships with patients physicians and pathmembers. Jobspecific duties include but are not limited to:Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinationsUses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adaptprocedures as appropriate to anatomical pathological diagnosticinformation and images Uses independent judgment during thesonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal andpathologic findings Analyses sonograms synthesizes sonographicinformation and medical history and communicates findings to theappropriate physician Assumes responsibility for the safety mentaland physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographers care Maintains accurate patient records Maintains ultrasoundequipment and work area and maintains adequate supplies Establishesand maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport withall interrelating hospitals referral or commercial agenciesDemonstrates flexibility of schedule supports offshift callresponding and ready to take patient within 30 minutes ofnotification PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:Graduate of formal diagnostic medical sonography program Bachelorof Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred)Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic MedicalSonographers (ARDMS) At least 2 years of experience preferredIndividual must have experience in general abdominal small partsvascular and OB/GYN including fetal survey scanning Flexible andadaptable Works independently in a team environmentPHYSICALABILITIES/WORK ENVIRONMENT Must have the ability to read andcommunicate effectively. This job requires frequent standingwalking sitting pushing pulling reaching lifting and somerepetitive motions.
