We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and experienced tutors to work on our parenting, wellbeing and teaching assistants courses as part of Wakefield Adult Education Service.

What will be expected from me?

The purpose of this role is to deliver a mixture of accredited and non-accredited courses. Various sized contracts are available along with subject specific training for the right candidates.

What I might be doing?

  • You will ensure learners receive high quality teaching and learning and are aware of other learning opportunities to ensure they access and progress to appropriate courses
  • Teach innovative activities/skills in sessions that motivate and engage all learners and are suitably challenging
  • You will work within a supportive team to update schemes of work, lesson plans and resources with clear objectives to meet the course program and accreditation/RARPAP requirements
  • You will maintain appropriate teaching and learning records

  • Essential requirements:

  • Level 4/5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE or DTLLS) or equivalent teaching qualification or be prepared to achieve full teacher status within two years).
  • Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults (will be given training within 2 months of recruitment)
  • Teaching and learning quality cycle, and current teaching methodologies and pedagogy
  • One year’s teaching and/ or assessment experience (this may have been gained via teaching practice) and of assessment and planning learning.
