The vacancy

Rainbows cares for hundreds of families every year from across the East Midlands who have a baby, child or young person with a serious or terminal illness that means that their lives will be shorter than most.

We support every baby, child and young person to fulfil their potential, and help families make the most of every precious moment, while capturing memories and keepsakes to treasure. We’re here for the whole family offering comfort and compassion during tough times, providing the highest level of professional care until the end, and support after.

Simply put, we’re here to brighten short lives, and support families, wherever they are – at home, in hospital or at our hospice.

We are seeking a new Trustee who is a nurse with children’s and/or palliative care experience to formally join the Board.

As a member of our Board you will be responsible with your fellow Trustees for the good stewardship and governance of the hospice. Working with the Chief Executive, and members of the senior leadership team, you will discuss, approve and monitor our strategy for development and success. You will have oversight of our finances and resources and ensure that these are managed appropriately and in the best interests of the charity. And you will share in the passion of a hard-working and talented team of people who share a commitment to delivering great work for our children, young people and their families.
