Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the administration team at Charing Cross Hospital’s Urology department. The successful post holder will be primarily providing administrative support to the benign urology administration teams and thus will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside consultants, registrars, nurses, other pathway coordinators within the urological cancers administration team and operational managers.

The post holder will work closely with the relevant team members to ensure that patient pathways are coordinated effectively, that tertiary referrals are processed and booked into the appropriate clinics and that a high quality customer service is provided at all times. The post holder will be expected to ensure that correspondence is sent to patients and other stakeholders in a timely manner and that patient queries are answered by phone and email.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy working environment. Communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate an ability to communicate with patients and staff across all disciplines.

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support across a number of the urology patient pathways, liaising closely with the pathway co-ordinators and the clinical teams to provide an efficient service. To ensure that correspondence is sent out to patients in a timely manner and that patient queries are answered by phone and email.
