Job Description
Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate transportation routes to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule and track shipments.
Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
Monitor and analyse transportation data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Address and resolve transportation issues in real-time to minimise disruptions.
Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
Work closely with the logistics team to forecast demand and allocate resources effectively.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal Transport Planner will have:
Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar role within the logistics industry.
Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the transportation industry.
