We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee/Graduate Power Systems Engineer to join our firm. The role will be from our Plymouth or Exeter offices.
This role is to help support Hoare Lea in our continued development in our Infrastructure and mission critical projects across the UK and Europe. The role will involve Power systems analysis on HV, MV, and LV distribution for small and large-scale Infrastructure/data centre and other critical projects.

What you’ll be doing
You will be working on a varied portfolio of projects both in the UK and Internationally with support from the HV team lead.
Undertaking design calculations for assessing utility connections, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, and renewable technologies, together with associated earthing and distribution systems.
Using a variety of industry-standard software including CAD, ETAP, SafeGrid (earthing software), and EOM.
Responsible for dealing successfully with Clients and other professionals.
Define and agree brief with Clients.
Contribute to the professional development of individual team members.
Actively leads self and identifies opportunities and provides support for the career development of others.
Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are delivered.
What We Are Looking For
You will have an understanding of the key principles of electrical transmission/distribution systems.
Degree/HND in electrical or controls engineering preferred but those with relevant industry experience will also be considered.
Willing to embrace with enthusiasm and curiosity the knowledge from within the Hoare Lea HV, MV, and LV teams across the company and beyond.
Have a committed, open-minded, analytical, and problem-solving mindset with a strong willingness to learn.
