Temporary Accommodation Officer

37 hours per week, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join a Local Authority in Nottingham. This role focuses on supporting clients in temporary accommodation while ensuring they adhere to their license agreements and that the accommodation is managed safely and efficiently.
THE ROLE
As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of temporary accommodation units, ensuring they remain safe and well-maintained. Your key responsibilities include:
Conducting face-to-face meetings with clients to guide them on tenancy responsibilities and provide support with benefit claims.
Overseeing the management and upkeep of temporary accommodation buildings, including coordinating repairs and maintenance.
Handling sign-ups, checkouts, and completing inventories when tenants exit.
Supporting clients in understanding their responsibilities and available resources for sustaining their tenancy.
Ensuring all relevant documentation and procedures are completed for new and exiting tenants.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide the best possible service to residents.
Managing time effectively and handling multiple priorities under pressure.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a Local Authority or Housing Association. You will also have:
A strong understanding of temporary accommodation processes and tenancy management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement.
Experience with managing property maintenance and coordinating repairs.
The ability to work independently while managing a busy workload.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
