Are you an experienced Children and Families Services Social Worker looking for a permanent opportunity?

Are you looking to make a difference within Children's Services?

As well as working with a top local authority, they are able to offer an attractive package.

Benefits of the brilliant rewards package include:

Permanent applications only (salary range £49,428 - £52, 420 including £5,000

annual enhancement)

Full time Practitioner Managers aka senior practitioners/assistant team managers.

Workers must be able to travel to the Vale as needed.

We offer a hybrid and flexible working model. Across all services and teams we are very

clear that workloads need to be manageable to enable workers to support families in the

best way possible, and to support work life balance and sustainability in the workforce.

Responsibilities:

Intake Team

...
  • This role includes responsibility for initial child protection and court work, before transfer to longer-term teams.
  • This team has experienced instability in its staffing, and we have recently considerably expanded in order to meet demand. We are committed to continuing the improvement journey and are keen to establish management consistency.
  • This team completes a range of assessments, conducts section 47 enquiries and
  • establishes whether longer term plans are needed for families. They also are involved in issuing court proceedings where needed. The priority for this team is assessing what is needed to support children and families, if anything and then moving this support to the right team. Families will be transferred to our family support teams if intervention is longer than 3 months. This is a fast paced team where every day is different.

  • Workers in this team need to be able to offer empathetic support to families who have just been referred into Child and Young People Services. Families in these circumstances are often in crisis and as such workers need to be calm, and child focussed when things are unpredictable.
  • We are aiming for workers in this team to work with a maximum of 20 - 22 children at any one time, but this may be less depending on the complexity of the work. There are family aides (workers who offer practical support), social care officers and business support to help with the work in this team.
  • This could be the perfect position in which to realise your career goals.

Who do you know that may be interested in this role? A £300 referral bonus is available - subject to Ts and Cs.

    Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work Wales, or will process an application
  • Car driver
  • Why let this opportunity slip through your fingers?

Do you have some more questions regarding this or any other role?

Being a preferred supplier to numerous local authorities and NHS trusts, we can give you access to a wide range of vacancies. Are you thinking about a change in your career? Whether you are an existing locum or you are new to the locum market and are exploring your options, we have opportunities that are exciting, well paid and flexible.
