This role would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher seeking to make a real impact on the wonderful students at the Academy. You will be expected to continue ourmitment to running a broad range of extra-curricular clubs at break, lunch and after school, and will have the ability to teach GCSE OCR Sports Studies and BTEC National Level 3 in Sports. Broadway Academy is a high performing academy in north Birmingham and was rated OFSTED ‘Good’ in our latest inspection.
The Department
You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team who work together to achieve excellent oues for students. Our facilities include a gym, sports hall, fitness suite, astroturf and MUGA. We provide over 20 extra-curricular activities throughout the year, with teams across all age groupspeting in a range of activities in local leagues. We currently have sports academies on offer at sixth form - a basketball academy with the Birmingham Rockets and a cricket academy with Aston Manor CC. There is also scope for a potential girls’ sports academy as interest is high.
The role
The successful candidate will strive towards teaching outstanding lessons at all key stages, have excellent classroom management skills, high expectations of students, amitment to developing their pedagogy and be able to demonstrate initiative and generate ideas in a school where enthusiasm and hard work are valued. Please note that amitment to delivering after-school girls’ sports clubs and managing a girls’ sports team is a MUST.
