Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. It serves students and the community at its two campuses, in Chester and Midlothian; online; and in locations throughout its service area. The Student Support Representative will serve as the first point of contact for general information about the college and its academic/student services. Responds to walk-in, texting, and telephone inquiries from community members, students, faculty, staff, and administrators seeking assistance. Provides administrative support to the college employees housed in the Help Hub. The position is full-time, with a variable work schedule which can include working on campus and virtually. This position may require working some evening and weekend hours, especially during peak enrollment periods. Minimum Qualifications:

Experience performing administrative tasks. Customer service experience, preferably. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with a diverse student population. Understanding of and commitment to open-access community college philosophy and student success. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher; proficiency in the use of eVA and PeopleSoft; higher education experience.
