We seek to appoint a Site Supervisor (L2) for 22.5 hours per week, working all year round to join Newland St John's Church of England Academy. This is a permanent position, Monday to Friday, all year round. The appointed person will also have responsibility for line managing the cleaning team.

Newland St John's Church of England Academy is a very special and safe space where we live together, learn together and shine together, in the love of God. We have a close relationship with our parish church, St John Newland, and are part of Hope Sentamu Learning Trust, a family of academies working together to improve outcomes for children, under the oversight of the Diocese of York Educational Trust.

This role will be key role in maintaining the security, safety, cleanliness and upkeep of all school buildings, grounds and facilities under the direction of the Principal/Trust Facilities Lead to ensure a secure, safe and hygienic environment for all building users and may organise and direct all premises staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness within the school. The caretaker and cleaning team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and buildings throughout the school.

The post is required to work with tools, cleaning equipment and products which contain chemicals, but the necessary protective clothing will be provided. Also required to work outdoors in all weathers to ensure the school premises is safe.
