We have an exciting opportunity for a Sister/Charge Nurse (Band 6) to join our Orthopaedic and Spinal Unit here at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of  £44,639 - £54,572 per annum. This is 12 month fixed term contract.

Job Profile

As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of patient centred care, including the appropriate assessment and evaluation of nursing interventions and ongoing care planning, quality improvement and service delivery alongside the multidisciplinary team. You will also play a senior role within the ward, designated to take charge.

  • Job Location: This role is located at The London Clinic’s main hospital site in London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type: This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term position working 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Sunday. Shifts include; rotational Long Days, Nights & Weekends.
  • Salary: The salary range for this role is  £44,639 - £54,572 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting and shift enhancements), depending on skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delivery of individualised patient care of the highest standard, acting as the named nurse, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation is in line with evidence base practices.
  • To take a senior role within the ward, providing leadership and mentorship to more junior members of staff.
  • Promote safe practice and professional conduct, and competent in the recognition of life threatening/ emergency situations.
  • Organise workload in-line with clinical priorities, and establish good working relationships with specialist practitioners and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
  • Contribute to research and development programmes as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve ‘customer/patient care’ as well as participate in the audit process where appropriate.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Post registration acute surgical ward experience with sound evidence-based knowledge in general nursing, and familiar with a variety of Nursing models.
  • Previous experience in orthopaedics and spinal surgery.
  • Effective interpersonal and organisational skills , with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and is respectful to a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
