Senior Mental Health Nurse

37.5 hours per week

Salary: £37,000 - £40,000

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our client's team. As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients in an Acute and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will be a leader in the multidisciplinary team, providing support and guidance to junior staff while delivering high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with mental health needs.

Qualifications:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification and valid UK NMC Pin
• Proven experience working in a mental health setting, ideally within an Acute or PICU environment
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on individuals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership and clinical expertise
• Commitment to providing person-centered care and upholding the highest standards of nursing practice

Responsibilities:

• Lead the nursing team in providing comprehensive care to patients with complex mental health needs
• Act as a role model and mentor, providing support and guidance to junior staff members
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans
• Administer medication and monitor the effects, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients
• Utilize therapeutic communication techniques to engage with patients and support their mental health recovery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and contribute to the assessment and evaluation of care delivery
