The Opportunity

  • Lead the relevant members of the LPM team as Senior Manager in the UK and EMEA (and in time other regions in West if applicable).
  • Lead the delivery of PG specific priorities with the other Senior Managers and lead strategic projects.
  • Core responsibilities include:

  • Delivering excellence in Legal Project Management service delivery to the firm's PGs in West.
  • Financial Management and Financial Performance of LPM West in line with relevant budget targets.
  • Strategic management of LPM in West toward demonstrable growth of the business unit – in respect of financial performance and the evolution of product offerings.
  • Accretive Business Development activities both internally and externally.
  • Formulate and communicate a clear vision and value proposition for contentious LPM and clearly define and communicate its services to internal and external clients.
  • Communicate a clear vision for own team and demonstrate exceptional leadership.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes for quality delivery of work including developing and maintaining sustainable models of operational best practice in legal project management.
  • Implement and manage robust risk and governance procedures.
  • Implement and manage robust financial management processes including time recording and productivity tracking and reporting.
  • Lead a high performing team which will include:
  • Creating a framework to ensure team members' focus is directed towards activities that deliver optimal outcomes and maximum value to the firm.
  • Setting clear KPIs for team members and actively monitoring and reporting on performance against these.
  • Leading to build a high-performance culture where team members are engaged and inspired to work at their highest capacity. Manage performance actively and identify and address gaps in capability and performance.
  • Coordinate team members to ensure effective collaboration, cross-pollination and teaming in service delivery and across own team and across the Digital Delivery PG more widely.
  • Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Degree qualified.
  • Over five years post-degree experience in a law firm or other professional services firm and at least 3 years of experience as a Legal Project Manager.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the legal process and typical work product in a law firm environment (including managing large matters).
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship building skills including experience in building strong relationships of trust with senior stakeholders and/or clients.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and understanding of key financial performance indicators.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts to understand and communicate information.
  • Strong systems skill set and an ability to rapidly pick up new systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Presents and facilitates with clarity, energy, confidence and enthusiasm, including structured interviewing.
  • Senior stakeholder management, influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Attention to detail with ability to simplify complex concepts to effectively communicate information.
  • Skilled at prioritising demanding workloads and working on projects as part of an international team
