Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Pilning

Salary: Dependent on experience with SEN allowance
Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs in both individual and group settings.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support teachers in creating and adapting learning materials to suit the needs of SEN students.
  • Assist with the physical, emotional, and social needs of students, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
