Exciting Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Term-Time Only)

Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential? We're looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the scenic area of Cranborne, Dorset.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Hourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Term-Time Only

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with students aged 11-16 who have special educational needs, including Autism. You'll provide valuable in-class support, as well as assist with practical outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills sessions. Your role will be crucial in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to ensure students' safety and well-being.
  • Help students meet their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) targets.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
  • Encourage social interaction and teamwork among students.
  • What We're Looking For:

    No prior experience is necessary-what matters most is your enthusiasm and commitment to working with young people. We're seeking candidates who have:

  • A strong desire to help young people and build supportive relationships.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • A positive, creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
