SEN Teaching Assistant - Make a Real Impact!

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual: £19,370.70 - £21,122.66, depending on experience) ...

Hours: 37 hours per week - Term Time Only

Do you want to be part of a team that's making a real difference in young people's lives? We're looking for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join us in supporting students aged 11-19 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and communication challenges. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting Learning and Development: Work alongside a team of professionals to create a caring, engaging environment where each student can thrive.
  • Tailored Support: Help students with sensory and communication needs, providing one-on-one or small group support.
  • Building Positive Relationships: Build trust and connection with students, creating a safe and welcoming space for learning.
  • Managing Behaviour: Use creative strategies to manage and encourage positive behaviour, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Personal Care: Assist with personal care when needed, ensuring every student feels supported and respected.
  • What You'll Need:

  • Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary).
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential).
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A flexible and creative mindset to adapt learning and support strategies for individual needs.
