  • Emotional Support: Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, offering pastoral care and helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement behaviour management plans and tailored learning strategies.
  • Foster Independence: Encourage students to develop self-regulation skills, promoting independence and personal responsibility.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

What the school is looking for:

  • Experience in SEMH Settings: Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours is essential.
  • Patience and Resilience: A calm, compassionate, and resilient attitude is critical, as the role will involve managing complex and sometimes unpredictable situations.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: A proactive approach, able to adapt to the evolving needs of the students and think on your feet.
  • Commitment to Student Success: A genuine belief in the potential of every young person, regardless of their starting point.

Why join us?

  • Make a Real Impact: Help students overcome significant challenges and achieve their personal and academic goals.
  • Supportive Team: Be part of a dedicated and compassionate team that values collaboration and peer support.
  • Professional Development: Receive ongoing training and opportunities to further develop your skills in SEMH support and education.
