Role responsibilities

As a School Liaison Officer, you will:

  • Maintain and develop a strong working partnership with specified local schools and colleges 
  • Ensure whilst travelling and using TFW services/stations during school term times, the safe and orderly conduct of students attending Harlech and Tywyn schools and Pwllheli college.
  • Assist high schools with the issuing of pupil travel passes as required at the beginning of the September school term.
  • Assist Conductors on train services as required out of school term times.
  • Assist TFW in operating trains in a safe and timely manner and to provide help and information to all customers.
  • Maintain a high profile, be pro-active in preventing anti -social behaviour on TFW services
  • Engage with local schools and colleges delivering rail safety and behaviour expectations
  • Assist with local event planning and promoting TFW services
  • Who we’re looking for:

  • A flexible individual who can meet shift working requirements as working hours will occasionally include weekend working.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding the importance of rules, regulations and strict instructions
  • Patience, with the ability to remain calm and responsible under pressure and in difficult situations
  • GCSE or equivalent. Must include grade of C or above in Mathematics and English
  • Welsh Language Skills

    The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
