Department of Neurosurgery The Trust wishes to appoint a neurosurgical senior Clinical Fellow (at post CCT level) who will be working along the middle grade rota in a 1:9 to a 1:12 rota with a 24/7 complex spine and cranial consultant rota to serve the increased demand of referrals. The post holder is required to support inpatient and outpatient cranial and spinal services at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will play a critical role in delivering the on call regional service for Hull and the Yorkshire & Humber region. The service treats patients from Hull, Scarborough, Bridlington, York, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Louth and Doncaster. The Neurosurgical Unit has expanded from a 2 Consultant Unit to 13 Consultants over the past 21 years in response to clinical demand, Government and SBNS backed developments. The Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuro-radiology, Neuro-rehabilitation, Neurophysiology and Neuro-pathology, are located across the 2 hospital sites, Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) and Castle Hill Hospital (CHH) serving a population of approximately 1.2 million people. There are 12 Registrar level posts (4 trainees, 2 MTI fellows, 1 research Fellow, 1 Spinal Fellow, 3 Clinical fellows and 1 Royal College of Surgery approved spinal fellow), 3 CT1-2, 1 F2, 1 F1 and) in the service. There are currently 12 Substantive Consultants who are listed with their interests (all consultants have a degenerative spinal workload). Mr. Gerry O’Reilly Paediatrics, Epilepsy, Cranial oncology Mr. Shailendra Achawal Cranial oncology Mr. George Spink Complex Spine Surgery Mr. Chittoor Rajaraman Cranial oncology Mr. Anuj Bahl Pituitary & Skull Base Surgery Mr Vasileios Arzoglou Complex Spine Surgery Mr Gueorgui Kounin Vascular and Skull Base Surgery Mr Martin Drozda Complex Spine Surgery Mr Chris Lee (Orthopaedics) Complex Spine Surgery Mr Shuaibu Dambatta Complex spinal surgery, Pain Service Mr Mohammad Hussain Complex spinal surgery Mr Amar Bhavsar Complex spinal surgery Mr Mihai Danciut Vascular and Skull Base Surgery Mr Adam Alexander Razak Cranial Oncology/Paediatrics All consultants subspecializing in complex spine, from the list above, will serve as faculty for this fellowship program.
