Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week.

Based within Bristol City Council Locality offices and The Station, Silver Street.


Bristol Youth Justice Service is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Restorative Justice Worker to promote the active involvement of victims in our Out of Court disposal processes. Bristol YJS is a multi-agency service whose purpose is to reduce offending by young people and to work with victims of their crimes within restorative justice principles.

You will work as part of Bristol Youth Justice Service’s Restorative Justice team to deliver a high-quality restorative justice service which aims to repair the harm caused by young people, bringing resolution to victims and offenders and reduce offending.


The main responsibilities of the job will involve making contact with victims of crime, gathering their views to aid the decision making of Out of Court Disposal Panels, providing impartial information enabling victims to make informed choices regarding any restorative justice involvement they may have with young people in the Criminal Justice System and supporting them throughout their contact with the Youth Justice Service.

 
You will have experience of working with victims of crime, a strong commitment to the principles of restorative justice and a proven ability to work independently whilst also being able to work supportively within a team environment. They will also be expected to establish and maintain effective multi-agency links with key partner agencies to support victims of crime in Bristol. 


This role is emotionally challenging and involves working with victims of crime, lone-working and home visits.
