The team you'll work with:
Our second line of defence risk team provide independent oversight by challenging and supporting the first line in managing risks inherent with HSBC Innovation Banking business activity. Acting as a secure control function, they ensure all activities undertaken on the companies' behalf can be reported on and are aligned with HSBC Innovation Banking's prescribed risk appetite, as well as comply with local and Group level regulatory and compliance requirements. We currently have 2 opportunities to join us as a Resilience Risk Specialist. One for Data and Change and another for Tech and Op Resilience.
The value you'll add:
Working in a fast paced, high transacting environment, as a Resilience Risk Specialist, you will support the Second Line Resilience Risk Team within HSBC Innovation Banking in the implementation and effective oversight of the Bank's Resilience Risk Framework and associated policies.
What you can expect to be doing:
Undertaking critical assessments and challenge of effectiveness of service and operational resilience systems, controls including maturity and risk assessments
Maintaining robust records of the framework, responsibilities, controls, testing and monitoring result, risk assessments and product of reports for Risk Steward as well as any required risk committee reporting.
Supporting the Risk Steward Lead in the oversight and effective challenge of operational resilience priorities such as risk and control process related assessments, scenarios, events and incident management, risk appetite monitoring, risk metrics and regulatory reporting, where required.
Supporting the provision of effective oversight on operational activities and change initiatives as it relates to Operational Resilience and Business Continuity
Providing oversight and effective challenge of the annual self assessment of operational resilience and prepare ICT related reports where required for risk management.
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to promote and develop risk awareness and risk management culture in order to ensure that the material risks are both evident and effectively managed.
Support Risk Steward Lead and 1 st line Business Service Owners with all specialist operational resilience related eg , including regular review of existing critical and important business services and identification and scoping of new ones.
Requirements
A strong track record of risk and control experience within a Financial Services, coupled with expert knowledge of Operational Resilience
Knowledge of data protection laws and practices including understanding of GDPR
Good understanding of operational resilience frameworks, regulation and standards eg ISO 22301, FCA/PRA/BOE operational resilience guidelines, ORIC, DORA etc.
Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills and assimilate information rapidly.
Ability to break down complex problems in a clear and understandable way that enables you to provide stakeholders with clear and concise recommendations and reports
