Location: South Shields, Newcastle

Residential Support Child Salary: £75 to £100 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s NewcastleBranch is excited to announce an opportunity for compassionate individuals to join our client school as Residential Support Child for the September 2024 term. Job Summary: As a Residential Support Worker, you will be crucial in providing care, guidance, and support to children who need it most. You will work as part of a committed team to ensure that each young person feels safe, valued, and supported in their personal development. This role offers an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in young lives.

Residential Support Child Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to children in a residential setting.
  • Assist in developing and implementing personalized care plans that address each child's individual needs.
  • Support children in managing their emotions and behavior, promoting positive self-esteem and resilience.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, families, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
  • Maintain accurate records of the children's progress and any incidents that occur.
  • Participate in and organize activities that promote the personal, social, and educational development of the children.
  • Ensure a safe and secure living environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and responding appropriately to emergencies.

The Essential Requirements for Successful Residential Support Child:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to helping them overcome challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Experience in a residential care or support role is beneficial but not essential.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare or social care is desirable.
