About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Business Intelligence Service of Leicestershire County Council. We are now recruiting to a Research & Insight Officer post in our busy Business Intelligence Service (6 months with the possibility of becoming permanent).
Working as part of a large and innovative Business Intelligence Service, liaising closely with colleagues across the council, you will help provide research and insight support for strategic planning, service delivery and commissioning within the council.
The post will be working to provide business intelligence support on surveys and consultation. For small scale projects you will gather requirements, design the activity (in collaboration with colleagues), prepare materials (including surveys) and produce high-quality analytical reports, dashboards and presentations for a variety of audiences. For more strategic projects you will work closely with Research & Insight Managers who will gather requirements and advise on project design.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, educated to degree level, with experience of working in a business intelligence or a performance management environment, researching specific issues and managing and analysing data.
Experienced in presenting data and information using a variety of IT packages, you will have excellent IT skills and proven ability to learn new packages as well as knowledge of specialist software that underpins the team’s work areas – particularly knowledge of SNAP (or similar surveys packages) and also others such as Tableau (or similar visualisation packages), SPSS, R, and Excel (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
You will have good presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write concise and meaningful reports and provide an interpretation of research findings.
