# About you:To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: **Essential criteria** 1. Good quality PhD in behavioural or social sciences, mental health, or in a discipline with a mental health-related orientation. 2. Post-Doctoral level training in applied health research methods, excellent data collection and analysis skills, and experience of conducting and reporting mixed-methods research or evaluation projects. 3. Experience of conducting evidence syntheses (e.g. systematic reviews, meta-analyses) and evidence appraisal. 4. Track record of working with stakeholders in different organisational structures including patients, service users and carers. 5. Evidence of excellent academic writing preferably published in peer-reviewed journals as expected by the subject area/discipline in terms of types and volume of outputs. 6. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to different audiences, including evidence of ability to produce clear, non-technical writing (e.g. for non-academic audiences. **Desirable criteria** 1. Record of supervising, appraising, coaching and mentoring of research students. 2. Experience of writing and submitting research grant proposals for academic research. 3. Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant.
