We have an excellent opportunity for a Relief Support Worker to join our Service in Debenham. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. 

You must have the ability to work flexibly across various shifts spread over weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.  The shifts available will include different shift patterns worked between 07:00 – 15:00 and 15:00 – 22:00, plus a sleep in, which is 22:00 – 06:00. Flexibility is essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support. 

We are looking for someone who has agood sense of humour and are fun to spend time with! The people we are supporting are looking for their new Support Worker to enjoy participating in their various activities and be respectful to their individual needs.

About our Service

Our service is a 24 hour Supported Living Service where we support three men and one lady. We support with all aspects of daily living including personal care and medication and support to access the community. During the week two of the people we support access day centres and the other two have 1:1 support at home where they can complete activities that they enjoy.

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
  • *All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
