We have an exciting opportunity for a Relationship Director to join our Belfast team within Corporate and Commercial Banking.
As a Relationship Director, you’ll be responsible for a portfolio of clients in line with the strategy for Corporate Clients, with a focus on client acquisition, maintenance, relationship development and retention together with management of all aspects of risk. You’ll be expected to drive advocacy of Santander UK in the marketplace by developing strong working relationships with key business introducers, prospects, and clients.
You will demonstrate a client centric approach to deliver solutions for corporate clients and new to bank prospects to meet short- and long-term needs working collaboratively with other areas of the Bank.

Demonstrating a client centric approach in managing a portfolio of clients, build strong relationship’s, deliver a client experience second to none and add value by engaging with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business to anticipate their needs and deliver differentiated propositions by working collaboratively with other areas of the Santander
Building and manage external relationships promoting Santander’s reputation with clients, prospects, and external stakeholders, including a strong professional advisor network
Having a deep understanding of the corporate banking sector and the wider economic, business, and competitive environment
Identifying, assess, and mitigate the risk associated with role, including but not limited to, Financial Crime Risk, Credit Risk (from application through ongoing portfolio management), Data integrity, Fraud and Cyber Risk
Delivering a consistent and proactive approach to business development, both in relation to new activity and the ownership of and conversation with their prospects
What you’ll bring:
A deep understanding of the corporate banking market, proven credit risks skills and ability to structure and execute transactions independently
Proven relationship management track record with a track record of business development
It would also be nice for you to have:
Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Office
Existing relationships/professional network within the Belfast business community
Experience in managing, coaching, and providing on-going development of Relationship Managers and less experienced Relationship Directors within team
