Main duties of the job

To always maintain confidentiality of information regarding children/ families.

Promote and maintain good and effective communication with patients, relatives, andvisitors.

Persuade patients and families to co-operate with treatment for their well-being, effectivelydeal with anxious relatives.

Ensure parents/carers and the child (when appropriate), can agree and/or negotiate care

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services in or around Harlow, Bishops Stortford, and Epping. Located along the M11 corridor on the edges of London, with Stansted airport nearby, there are a range of good leisure, education and shopping facilities, as well as plenty of green space criss-crossed with a network of award-winning cycle ways. Excellent transport links to London and Cambridge, including a tube station in Epping, provide easy access to city life. PAHT also has an on-site nursery and a preferential car leasing scheme .

What you can add:

Co-ordinating with the Paediatric Lead

Working with patients' families and carers, to discuss the care and condition of the paediatric patient

Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations

Checking and using specialised equipment such as monitors and ventilators

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

What youll need:

A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Paediatric A&E hospital environment within the last 3 years

Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

A Paediatric Nursing Degree
