Our client is looking foran experienced and cultured General Manager / Head of Business tostep into a regional role within a busy and growing car dealershipgroup. It will be your responsibility to lead and inspire a largeteam across and initial 3 or 4 Used Car Dealerships based in thesouth of England, sites are based in Surrey, Kent and London so theability to travel between sites is essential. Heavy growth isplanned for the end of 2024 and into 2025 so this role may grow anddevelop in the future.

Alongside your customer-centric attitude,you will be commercially minded, passionate about the car industry,and motivated by setting, achieving and exceedingtargets.

This role would suit an experienced headof business, general manager or dealer principal who is looking fortheir next step.

RoleRequirements

To be successful in this role, youwill have:

  • A proven track record indriving results within a fast-paced, volume-based business withinthe Automotive Industry.
  • A strong used carbackground - ideally from a used carsupermarket
  • The ability to lead by example,manage and inspire the team to deliver an Incredibleperformance.
  • Strong customerfocus
  • Great computerliteracy
  • Strong communication and negotiationskills
  • Self-motivation
  • Experienceof working with Aftersales / Service departments would be an addedadvantage but isn't essential.

YourResponsibilities

  • Leading andmotivating a large but cohesive team - overall responsibility forcirca 300 staff.
  • To unleash the potential ofeach site by setting stretching objectives and providing regularfeedback on performance against these objectives to the generalmanagers on site.
  • Ensure that compliance isenforced and that it meets all the obligations relating to thecustomer experience
  • Report site performance tothe Sales Director and to the board of directors onoccasion.
  • Pioneer new strategies and techniquesto inspire the team.
  • Oversee and organise theaftersales/service function on the sites in conjunction with theoperations director.

WorkingPattern

Your working pattern will cover a mixtureof weekends and weekdays, mainly long days of 4 or 5 days per week,rota dependent. The dealership is open until 10pm so the shiftswill be long but highly profitable.


Anextended in-house training period will be required initially - thiswill mean travel to the other parts of the business to absorb thecompany culture and processes, accommodation, mileage etc. to beexpensed by the company.
