Quality Manager/Head of Quality
This role will work alongside all other members of the quality function and integrate throughout the business to ensure the highest levels of quality standards and AS9100 accreditation specifically are both adhered to and maintained in all aspects of our product supply and customer engagement.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the quality system having coordinated the AS9100 audit and re-accreditation and then subsequent process evaluation and development. Including all the quality of all products and procedures through rigorous inspections, implementation of quality control measures, and identification of areas for improvement.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to building high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
You will possess a strong background in engineering or quality assurance, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Responsibilities
. Ensures quality organization support to Engineering, Supply Chain and customers including organisation relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements
. Leads the development, implementation, and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services
. Participate in and lead, the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes
. Analyses organizational quality metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level
. Develop and implement a Quality structure capable of supporting strategic business plans and initiatives
. Design and implement quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics
. Ensure functional participation in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing.
. Lead improvement teams in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits
. Ensure development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions
. Evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
. Coordinate with plant leadership to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status information and action plans

Skills/ desired
. Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management.
. Extensive experience of AS9100 accreditation and system audit/management
. Demonstrated ability to drive results in the area of Quality, continuous improvement, etc.
. In-depth experience with the practical application of Quality tools, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
. Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others
. Ability to learn customers' Quality requirements and drive process improvements
. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills
. Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
. Good working knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, AS9120 Rev B- APQP, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, Continuous Improvement and process plans
. Actively implement structured problem-solving and robust Root Cause and Corrective Action techniques e.g., 8D, RCCA, 5-Why

Qualifications
. BTEc Higher or equivalent ideally, degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field
. Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
. Previous experience in a Quality management role in Aerospace/Defence or associated manufacturing industry.
. Membership of IQA and detailed knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and ideally industry specific Accreditations such as AS9100
