Job summary

Qualified Psychologist Salary: NHS 8a - £44,342 - £57,383 DOE

Qualified DBT Therapist Salary: £41,607 - £49,718 DOE

Hours: 5 days / hoursper week although part time 4 days / 30 hours may be considered

Location: Northampton /Hybrid Working

We are open to an informaldiscussion around flexible working

Weare St Andrew's. We are a mental health Charity and our purpose is to inspirehope for those living with complex mental health needs.

Weare seeking a Qualified Psychologist who can support us within our Clinic andprivate therapy services. We are based in in Northampton where themajority of sessions take place however we have a growing on-line clinic andambitions to further expand the services we offer during 2024. Apart fromexpanding our existing therapy provision, we are also planning to offer a DBTcommunity service in this financial year.

Main duties of the job

TheRole

Thisrole will suit an experienced Qualified Psychologist or DBT Therapist who islooking for a role in an outpatient clinic or is qualified in DBT.

Thepost holder will report to the Principal Psychologist and receive clinicalsupervision and mentoring from the Associate Director of Psychology. OurPrivate Therapy Service is one of several services within the Outpatientsdivision and the post holder will therefore be part of a friendly andsupportive wider clinical team. They will also be able to take advantage of theextensive CPD opportunities that St Andrews offers.

About You

StAndrews Outpatient Clinic was established in 2012 to provide assessment andtreatment for people who are able to fund their own care, and have mild mentalhealth conditions. You would be responsible for delivering outcome basedpsychological therapy working age adults, with the opportunity to also workwith adolescents and older adults. We are looking for a clinician who isclearly able to demonstrate experience in delivering therapy according toevidenced based guidelines. Experience of using a range of therapeuticmodalities such as DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and EMDR would also bean advantage. Equally important would be your ability to work bothautonomously within community based settings, as well as collaboratively with otherteams and professionals.

Inorder to be eligible, you will need to be registered with HCPC.

Job responsibilities

Thesuccessful candidate will join our existing team of passionate permanent andassociate clinicians and lead on the delivery of a range of psychotherapeuticinterventions to private and healthcare funded clients. The successfulcandidate will therefore join the team equipped with extensive experience inproviding and supervising a range of NICE approved psychotherapy interventionssuch as DBT, CBT, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, EMDR and Schema Therapy alongwith assessment skills in psychometric tools. Extensive experience inrunning and delivering DBT-based interventions is desirable but we are able toprovide training and ongoing support through the existing expertise within theCharity.

You maybe required to travel within the UK as part of your role and hence a full UKdrivers license is desirable.

Yourskills in managing risk concerns in a patient-centred and effective manner willbe key in ensuring the service prioritises the safety of its serviceusers. You will be equally confident in your ability to gather, interpretand analyse data to ensure treatment is being delivered effectively to both onan individual and service development level.

Wehave ambitious plan for our therapy services including introducing a new DBTservice in late 2024 and you will have the opportunity to be involved in thistoo.
