Denholm Energy Services (formerly Denholm Oilfield Services) started as a division of J. & J. Denholm, a family owned business with close to 150 years of experience operating in the marine and service industries. With over 40 years of operational experience in oil and gas, Denholm Energy Services now operates as a stand alone Group and has an annual turnover in excess of £190m.
Our History
Denholm Energy Services can trace its roots back to 1866 when the J. & J. Denholm was founded as ships agents on the Clyde in Scotland.
Over the next century and a half, Denholm expanded into ship owning, ship management, logistics, industrial services, seafoods and oilfield services.
Denholm companies have been operating in the oil and gas market since 1974 and have been serving the North Sea since the beginning.
Over time the oilfield services business has grown internationally and in 2015 our success led to the decision to demerge from the Denholm Group and operate as an independent Group dedicated to serving the international energy and defense market.
Today we employ over 4,000 people in seven countries on four continents and turnover in excess of £170m.
We continue to grow as a business both through acquisition and organically and have a strong track record in acquiring value added services that compliment our existing services to meet our customers’ requirements.

Our Markets
Onshore and offshore oil and gas – We provide a wide range of services to the major international oil and gas companies around the world. We also provide those same services to the world’s leading contractors to the oil and gas industry.
Petrochemical – We provide chemical cleaning and decontamination services to the major petrochemical plants.
Infrastructure – We support major infrastructure projects where complex structures are involved.
Defence – We have an international presence in the marine maintenance markets, primarily supporting the defense industry.
General Industry – We provide chemical cleaning and waste management to the industrial sector.
