Your responsibilities

  • Support Uniper UK’s lobbying activities and engagement by planning and delivering engagement plans, helping to develop and maintain positive relationships with key political stakeholders from across the UK.
  • Follow the political process, providing intelligence on upcoming legislation, select committee reports, parliamentary questions, and political developments, ensuring the business is kept aware of relevant issues.
  • Draft and produce high-quality briefing material for senior management, advising and preparing input into political processes such as parliamentary questions and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure good relations with constituency MP offices by coordinating correspondence, securing and supporting meetings with MPs, coordinating follow-up material, visits, or further meetings.
  • Support colleagues with the development of internal/external communication, lines to take, press releases and speeches as needed.

Your profile


Essential

  • Relevant degree or advanced level qualification preferably in politics, economics or similar.
  • Proven experience of working in a political affairs or external facing advisor role.
  • Working knowledge of the UK parliamentary and political process.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with demonstratable experience of dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven strong communication skills – both written and verbal - with good attention to detail and the ability to translate and communicate complex information.
  • Motivation to work independently as well as part of a team.


Desirable:

  • Experience of working within an MP’s office, parliament, government department or similar related institution.
  • Knowledge of the key issues facing the energy industry.
