The opportunity 

Project: 

Due to our continued growth, we require project managers who will be responsible for the delivery of multiple fast-paced property investments programmes for international hotel clients. 

This role sits in our consultancy business, specifically the commercial private sector.You will join our team of Project Managers, delivering programme and project management services for hotels, ranging from sensitive refurbishments of unique historical assets to delivery of five-star luxury resorts, urban hotels, and portfolio level projects.

As Project Manager, you will have sole responsibility for the delivery of projects, reporting into the Operations Director for hotels. 

The successful candidate will manage projects within Europe, there will be a requirement for travel, successful candidates will be expected to operate with a degree of autonomy and able to effectively develop and execute their own project plans, collaborating with cross-border colleagues, as required. 

Yourresponsibilities will include:

  • Sole ownership of and responsibility for the successful delivery of hotel project or programme from inception to execution of the scheme. 

  • Very strong communication skills with the ability to build and develop relationships with both clients and external stakeholders.

  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.

  • Determining and arranging project management, programme management, sustainability and technical services and other external resources required for the project on behalf of client organisation. 

  • Able to quickly develop an understanding of a client’s process and procedures to ensure your projects fit their governance requirements. You will also be able to develop your own Project plans for clients who do not possess their own construction processes or standards.

  • Preparation of tender documentation, reports, schedules and recommendations contributing to procurement of trade contractors.Issuing the instructions, on behalf of the client, to the Contractor and any professional team in accordance with the terms of their appointment or the building contract. 

  • Understanding of budgets, estimates and ability to review and challenge tender proposals, where necessary. 

  • Understand the statutory approvals processes, including making and managing the Planning, Listed Building Consent and Building Control Approval, process successfully and advising clients where necessary.

  • Can demonstrate experience of performance in striving for quality, safety, cost and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve the project deliverables.

  • Have flexibility to the requirements of your projects and be comfortable with regular travel which will include periods of staying away from home

  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition in the built environment andtakes a proactive approach to identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

  • Experience, knowledge and skills need to include:

  • Experience of working in a similar Project Management role for a hotel developer, hotel operator, architectural or project management practice.

  • Proven successful delivery on hotel development, refurbishment or retrofit projects to a high standard, on schedule and within budget.

  • Understanding of the delivery and management of hotel projects with knowledge of the end-to-end process required to take a project from inception through to handover.

  • Track record for project delivery across the various RIBA workstages.

  • Knowledge/appreciation of H&S & CDM standards and regulations.

  • Knowledge of architectural, engineering design and construction principles.

  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel with effective time management.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to and work from project sites / Client locations.

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft officeand planning software such as MS Project / Asta
