The project:
To enable our planned growth in the Energy and Utilities sector, we are looking to grow our Transmission and Distribution consultancy team. Our portfolio of work involves delivering complex projects and programmes across our client base of strategic clients across electricity.

  • The Project Supervisor role is an opportunity to be a part of our expansion – helping us deliver distinctive value for our clients by ensuring their projects progress on-site in accordance with safety, quality and contractual standards. Specifically, we are seeking experienced candidates who can evidence their success in: Monitoring of health, safety and environmental standards, and management of associated risks, throughout the delivery phase. Supervising of project delivery to time, cost and quality requirements. Working with clients, contractors and the supply chain to achieve project outcomes. This role is based in London with some travel required throughout the UK.

    You’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensure that the Principal Contractor is pro-active in managing all safety aspects of the construction based activities and discharging their duties under CDM regulations.

  • Undertake regular site safety walks, attend coordination meetings and chair regular site progress meetings with contractors.

  • Ensure that site access/egress is controlled and maintain a site log/diary.

  • Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

  • Provide input to, review and comment on the deliverability of contractor programmes, including commissioning, and proactively monitor activity progress.

  • Inspect, approve or reject materials and workmanship in line with construction industry and client standards.

  • Undertake sensible monitoring of site construction activities.

  • Issue site instructions and authenticate record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.

  • Ensure drawings are maintained on site and that latest revisions are readily available through documentation system.

  • You’ll need to have:

  • Experience of site management and delivering to deadlines in a contracting environment.

  • Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.

  • Practical experience and formal training in the following areas:

  • Construction health and safety

  • CDM Regulations 2015

  • Risk Assessment & Method Statements

  • Environmental awareness and waste management

  • Basic Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality and safety.

  • Familiarity with standard contract terms and conditions, e.g. NEC3/4, FIDIC, BEAMA.

  • Leads others effectively, gives clear direction and coaches and supports others to reach their full potential

  • Persuades and influences others successfully towards a desired course of action.

  • Demonstrates a better perspective and explores innovative approaches in pursuit of a better way.

  • Presents clearly and communicates effectively in a confident manner.

  • Degree qualified with a minimum of three years’ relevant gas or electric transmission industry experience OR HNC /HND qualified with a minimum of five years’ relevant electric transmission industry experience

  • NEBOSH, SMSTS and/or IOSH

  • Experience in contract management (preferably NEC3 or NEC4).
