An urgent requirement has arisen for an experience Highways Programme Lead on a long term contract basis in either London or Birmingham to help deliver a large scale (Tier 1) programme delivering a telecommunications service. This role is focused on programme assurance and ensuring proper project management processes are followed for a programme of its size and scale (Tier 1). Experience working in a DfT Tier 1 programme (or equivalent) and an understanding of how National Highways works are essential to this role to act as a critical friend to the programme team.
This role offers 40 hours of work per week and hybrid work. You would be required to work in the London or Birmingham office 2-3 days per week. This role falls inside IR35 .
The role:
·Ensure project management is set up to function as a Tier 1 programme.
·Assure the existing project management processes and products to ensure alignment with Tier 1 best practice. Identify gaps and make recommendations to address either from this role or utilising existing resources on the project or additional resource where this is not possible.
·Undertake an assessment of the existing project plan to develop fully resourced project plan with work breakdown structures and identify resource gaps and efficiencies.
·Work with project team to mature governance and structure of the project (including roles and responsibilities, Terms of Reference, and forward resource requirements).
·Work with project team to mature risk, issue and dependency management (including RAID and a defined risk management escalation path).
·Define/advise on setting up the processes to manage and record key project information and decision-making.
