Advert: The Role

Hain Daniels are currently recruiting for a Production Operatives at our Clitheroe site. In Clitheroe, we manufacture traditional hot puddings under our Farmhouse Fare brand, as well as our own private label puddings.

To assist Shift Manager, Supervisors in all aspects of food production within an efficient, continuously improving, production line / area optimises product quality, GMP, customer service, cost and health & safety. Specific responsibilities include blending, packing, assembling of a number of product lines within a well trained team where there is open communications at all levels. The ideal candidate will work to train and supervise existing and new production operatives and will drive continues improvement with the department. 

Key Responsibilities / Accountability of the Role:

Shift performance (health and safety, labour, materials, customer service)

  • Ensure all products is made to company specification including, temperature, weight, photo standards, CCP, reporting all failures to Team leader, or Skilled Technician.
  • Assemble, blending, and packing of quality products to company standards at all times, reporting any failures.
  • Setting and operating machines, ability to deal with small issue
  • Complete all paperwork required
  • Report all downtime to ensure they are acted upon immediately and incidents of more than 10mins are reported to the Team Leader, Skilled Technician.
  • Provide information of issues to ensure improvements are captured and implemented.
  • Help maintain GMP by keeping work area/line clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all near miss and accident are reported to management.
  • Actively promote the personal development of all staff

  • Promote and help build pride within the work place and team.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, together with a can do attitude.
  • Promote an open communication between all internal departments.
  • Attend return to work interviews on the day of return to work.
  • Adhere to safe system at work
  • Ensure resources are available to meet the needs of the shift

  • Ensure materials are available and equipment is operating properly to deliver the production plan.
  • Ensure efficient and effective shift change over, by controlling stock levels, and GMP, and documentation.
  • Report all issues immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, technical and legislative polices and procedures

  • Ensure the area/line/product meet all company and legal requirements with regard to health & safety, environment, GMP, food safety and employment law.
  • Ensure the highest standards within the production area to deliver premium quality products to company specification.
  • Ensure all HACCP procedures are adhered to at all times, and all CCP`s you are responsible for is within specification.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • General

  • Adhere to the company’s Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities procedure.
  • Ensure all contact with customers internal or external is conducted in a professional manner (Encourage an open communication culture between all internal departments).
  • Take part in continuous improvement initiatives through production and projects teams.
  • Required to carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Shift Manager, Team Leader or Skilled Technician. 
  • What you will need for the Role:

  • Relevant level of education(GCSE/O levels) 
  • Relevant Health and Safety awareness
  • 1 years experience within the FMCG industry or manufacturing site.
