We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Lead to join our Primary team at HMP Stocken, a category C mens Prison located nr Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands.

In this role you will have the autonomy to shape the role to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality. 

Hours

Monday Friday (including some weekends and bank holidays).

The working hours are flexible, with the a possibility of working compressed hours.

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £53,3077 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work closely with partners to maintain a high quality clinical service for patients
  • Coach, line manage and develop clinician staff
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners
  • Deliver workshops to develop the teams learning in various areas such as clinical processes, documentation and patient care
  • Be responsible for the rota and managing shortage and sign off agency nurses hours

    Qualifications & Experience required

  • Registered Nurse Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
  • Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

    Job responsibilities

    We are looking foran experienced clinical lead to provide clinical leadership and management tothe registered nurses and care teams. Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head ofHealthcare when required. Working closely with partners to maintain a robust,high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practiceis consistent with autonomous practice within the role. You will model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment,communication and competence.

    As the ClinicalLead you will coach, line manage anddevelop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governanceand contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical LocalOperating Protocols for the site. You will also chair and facilitate specifichealthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinicalsupervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and forthe wider region. As Clinical lead, youll deliverworkshops to develop the teams learning in various areas such as clinicalprocesses, documentation, patient care and joint Healthcare & HMPPSprocesses and work in partnership with the Head of Healthcare to identify andmitigate clinical risk (risk register, incident reporting, quality assurance). Part of your role will require you to support the process of patient concerns,attend, contribute and progress actions from HMPPS/partnership meetings,oversee local patient engagement strategy and work in partnership with the Headof Healthcare to ensure that protocols and standards are adhered to.

    As Clinical Lead youll lead support teamwith safeguarding, have responsibility of the rota and managing shortage and signoff agency nurses hours online/ staff payroll when required (etips - payment).
