Now is an exciting time to join Hull City Council Neighbourhoods & Housing. 

The Social Housing Sector is moving to a very different regulatory model, following the introduction of the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, which represents the biggest change to social housing regulation in a decade. 

The service is currently working to understand how it needs to change to align itself with the new regulatory framework and deliver the best service possible for its tenants, residents, and customers. 

This role is at the heart of that change - in addition to leading a forward-thinking practice management team dedicated to the embedding and support of excellent professional practice.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Lead the Practice Management Team to interpret policy and legislation and provide critical advice and expert support to housing delivery teams service-wide, partners, and customers – on cross tenure, and related, housing issues.
  • Be responsible for supporting service-wide performance through regular monitoring and strategic intervention where required
  • Lead on policy and procedural improvements providing practical challenge and support to address deficiencies in performance or standards, including how the service rates against regional benchmarking and regulatory compliance
  • Champion and lead the service’s learning and development offer in conjunction with corporate Learning and Development
  • Lead on the development and delivery of innovative and transformative housing projects in partnership with others
