Princes has recently invested over £60m into the Cardiff site transforming it into one of Europe's leading Centre's of Juice Excellence. As the Planning Manager you will ensure optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the function: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People.
The Planning Manager will work closely with the Planning and Logistics Manager and Warehouse Manager to support the Planning department. The Planning Manager will look at the fine detail of Planning e.g. Tanker arrivals, supplier issues and stock levels whilst responsible for the day-to-day running of the Planning department. They will be responsible for the ordering of the raw materials and packaging in order to achieve the production plan.

This is a Monday - Friday 08.45 - 17.00 position

Principle Accountabilities:People Management for 4 direct reports (2 x Production Planners, 2 x Materials Schedulers)
Responsibilities may include the management of absence, holidays, performance management including PDRs and disciplinaries.
All activity related to the Production Plan, including but not limited to:
Availability of an accurate and achievable Production Plan for all factory lines – Ambient and Chill
Stock management (Stock holding and safety stocks etc) for all raw materials and packaging
Supplier management
Material Usage Variance (MUV) reporting
Supporting the delivery of the MES project
Deputising for the Planning & Logistics Manager, as required Role Requirements KnowledgePrevious management experience (preferred)
Exposure to ERP systems such as APO
SAP knowledge and exposure to ECC
Knowledge of master data and ability to interrogate issues
Worked in an environment to deliver a just in time plan
Set KPI’s to manage scheduled and planned attainment process
Control material stocks and availability through schedulers
Daily and monthly reporting on all stocks to MUV reporting (Material Utilisation Variance
Key user with Microsoft office
In depth knowledge of Excel and formulas with the ability to create and edit spreadsheets.
Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Use of sap BI reporting to meet business requirements.
Maintain site service level of 98.5% by meeting customer demand.
Maintain / Improve customer service relations with internal stakeholders
Deliver % completing for direct deliveries
