An award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for an Associate/Technical Director - Planning to join our expanding team working on planning projects in the UK. The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in the Renewables sector.

The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary planning and environmental consultancy. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, with a key focus on renewable energy developments. Prospective candidates will be expected to have excellent report writing skills and be well organized with meticulous attention to detail.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who is keen to learn and assist with a range of projects, with the ability to manage projects. The successful candidate should be RTPI accredited and will have significant post-graduate planning experience, preferably in a consultancy environment.

Your primary responsibilities would be:

  1. Overseeing Planning work
  2. Project Management and delivery of EIAs, Planning Statements, DASs, DCOs, etc.
  3. Project Management and delivery of Site Appraisals, Planning Statements, EIAs, etc.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement and Management
  5. Coordinating in-house consultants and liaising with clients
  6. Organizing and conducting site visits, team meetings, and scheduling work
  7. Sub-contractor management
  8. Preparing and submitting planning applications
  9. Tender and Fee Proposal production

Core Requirements:

  • Planning degree
  • Chartered or working towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
  • Demonstrable experience of the successful delivery and management of NSIPs and DCOs
  • Excellent working knowledge of the UK Planning system

The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients, and so attention to detail, reliability, and good organizational skills are essential. Ability to project manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience in the production of fee proposals or tenders
  • Solar farm and/or wind energy experience
  • Leading teams
  • Managing a budget
