We have an exciting opportunity for a Phlebotomist to join our Outpatients team. This role is a based in in our Central London Hospital Outpatients department (NW1 4LJ). We are also offering a competitive salary range of £29,686 to £ 34,348 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

Job Profile

As a phlebotomist you will be assisting with the day to day running of the phlebotomy service within the Outpatients Department to deliver high quality patient centred care.

  • Job Type:   37.5 hours per week, mon-fri, Flexible shifts plus 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • Salary:  £29,686-£34,348 per annum
  • Location:  The London Clinic, 20, 22 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6HL

Key Duties

  • To provide a safe and effective phlebotomy service.
  • To provide a swabbing collection service to patients.
  • To maintain at all times a professional approach to all our patients and clients, with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality concerning client information and all aspects of care.
  • Ensuring patients’ details are checked, confirmed to be correct against the information on Meditech, the request form and with the patient before sample collections are performed.
  • To escort and hand patients back to the Reception colleagues after sample collections to check out with the Reception Desk for any settlement of payment of patient’s accounts.
  • To ensure facilities including the phlebotomy rooms, clinical rooms, the examination trolleys, phlebotomy trays, clients’ waiting areas are replenished with appropriate stock items and that the environment is clean, safe and presentable at all times.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of working in Phlebotomy with a variety of patients for at least 2 years
  • Previous experience working in a UK healthcare environment
  • Competency in adult phlebotomy using the Vacutainer system
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate own workload
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well the ability to work autonomously
