Due to the retirement of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Safeguarding team as the Operational Team Manager.

You will lead an integrated multi-disciplinary team to empower people to take control of their lives and take steps to protect themselves and live a life free from neglect or abuse. You will provide day to day operational management of the safeguarding hub (MASH) and through support and professional development promote choice and person-centred support. You will continue to drive a culture of good practice and improvement focusing on the 6 core safeguarding principles of the Care Act 2014.

You will provide expert advice to operational teams (internal and external), senior managers and elected members by providing professional guidance and initiating appropriate action in response to safeguarding related issues including revision of plans and priorities following changes in legislation, guidance and/or policy. Critical to this role will be the ability to influence, motivate and develop individual accountability and confident practice in all appropriate safeguarding responsibilities. You will work in partnership with a whole range of partners internal and external leading on embedding a culture of ‘safeguarding is everyone’s business’.

Your understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and guidance related to Safeguarding adults will guide your decision-making and ensure compliance with the highest standards of practice. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders will be essential. Your inclusive and empathetic approach will foster a culture of cooperation and teamwork. Your excellent organisational and project management skills will be crucial in managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines. You will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex issues and engage stakeholders at all levels. Your persuasive and influential communication style will be pivotal in driving change.
