DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). An exciting opportunity has arisen within adult social care for an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to be part of MEAP (Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership)

The role holder will manage a team of OTs who carry out complex assessments for specialist equipment and adaptations, along with moving and handling assessments

The role holder will provide a comprehensive and streamlined service to citizens, to maximise independence, choice, safety and quality of life.

The key functions of the role include chairing nonstock equipment panel for both staff within MEAP and our colleagues in health, managing performance in relation to KPIs and targets. Signing off assessments and providing support, guidance and advice in relation to assessment outcomes

The main objective of the team is to enable people to live as independently as possible within their own homes. The role holder will work closely with Health, Care agencies, families and key stakeholders to ensure delivery of a cohesive, efficient and cost-effective service.

  • The candidate must hold the relevant OT qualification and ideally have some experience in a supervisory/managerial role. 
  • They must have Knowledge of complex equipment and major adaptations and have knowledge and application of assessment and interventions relevant to people with a range of medical conditions.
  • Have an understanding of relevant Social Care legislation 
  • Willingness to consent to and apply for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check for both children and adults
  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle
