We are looking to recruit people with a genuine desire to develop their skills and experience through a funded Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Programme.

We are looking for candidates who have a positive and caring attitude, along with having a collaborative, compassionate and open approach to their work. 

As it is an apprenticeship you will remain an employee of the trust, allowing you to learn as you earn through a mixture of academic and work based learning.

Main duties of the job

The Nursing Associate Apprenticeship is two years of development, through a mixture of work based learning and university study. There are two placements per year where you will be working in a variety of settings. These provide further insight into the role and support you in fulfilling the requirements set by the NMC. 

The role is demanding and the right candidate will demonstrate the required maturity, professionalism and dedication to manage the combined requirements of studying whilst working, with the resilience and tenacity to continue at times of pressure. 

  • Minimum of 6 months working within the Trust with a positive staff record.
  • Minimum of Level 3 NVQ/Diploma/ 2x A-Level qualification or equivalent, ideally in Health and Social care related subject.
  • Functional skills at minimum level 2 in Maths and English or GCSE in Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
  • Care Certificate.
  • Care driver, or ability to travel to attend university study, daily commute and placement up to 45 minutes away from the trust.
  • Minimum 30 hours contract, must be a substantive post.
  • Have lived in the UK for 2+ years.

    Pre requisites for apprenticeship:

    Essential criteria

  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ/Diploma/ 2x A-Levels qualification or equivalent, ideally in Health and Social Care
  • Functional Skills at Level 2 in Maths and English or GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
  • Care certificate
  • Minimum of 6 months of employment with the Trust at the time of starting, with a positive staff record
  • Desirable criteria

  • Car driver or ability to attend university day release, work placements up to 45 minutes away from the trust and daily commute
  • Minimum 6 months in the trust
