JobDetails:

To take principleresponsibility for the management and operation of the client scustomer networks. To provide network design consultancy andoperational support to all areas of thebusiness.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Day to day operationsmanagement of networkrelated incidents and servicerequests.
  
• Resolution or escalationof incidents and service requests within Service Level Agreements(SLA).
  
• Management of network changecommunications and procedures within the change controlframework.
  
• Monitor and report onnetwork health using management tools including Solarwinds NetworkPerformance Manager
  
• Perform dailynetwork health checks identify and rectify any potential issues ina timely manner.
  
• Install andcommission network infrastructure platforms including switchesrouters firewalls and loadbalancers.
  
• Provide expertise indevelopment design and deployment of WiFi and mobile (3G/4G)communications solutions to Enterprise and customer engineeringprojects.
  
• Administer networkprotocols and technologies including: MPLS BGP OSPF IPSEC PVSTLCP
  
• Create and maintain accurateclear and comprehensive networkdocumentation.
  
• Assist in therecommendation of new network equipment to meet projectrequirements
  
• Work closely with otherareas of the business to provide appropriate solutions andspecialist support/advice for projects and variation orders asrequired
  
• Take responsibility forcustomer project deliverables
  
• Mentorand assist with the development of less experienced teammembers.
  
• Provide 3rd line supportincluding outofhours support in critical incidents and participatein oncall support.
  
• Perform otherrelated duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of theorganization.
  
• Ensure applicationavailability performance scalability and security throughout theirnetworks by using traffic management delivery and accelerationtechniques in conjunction with WAN optimisation caching and qualityof servicemethods.
  

Qualifications andExperience:

Desirable:

• CurrentCisco Certified Network Professional qualification or a recognisedequivalent
  
• Current full drivinglicense and own car for travelling to and from data centres andtheir sites.
  
• Foundation inITIL
  
• University degree in a numeratesubject (e.g. Computer Science maths orengineering).
  

Skills andExperience:

• Extensiveand proven commercial experience in designing Installingcommissioning and supporting large complex multisite voice and dataLAN and WAN network solutions based predominantly on Ciscoproducts.
  

• Anindepth understanding of network infrastructure design and bestpractice principles including routing and switching concepts andtechnologies advanced IP addressing dynamic routingprotocols.
  
• MPLS Secure and resilientrouting solutions Unified communications Load balancing and trafficmanagement Quality of Service (QOS) Wireless and Mobilecommunications.
  
• Experience ofimplementing and supporting remote access and legacy dialuptechnologies
  
• An indepthunderstanding of end to end secure network concepts technologiesand protocols including Access control Next generation Webapplication and Stateful firewalls technologies Intrusionprevention Encryption (IPSEC SSL PKI) Security event informationmanagement systems Proxyservices.
