Your new role:

As a specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring the patient's nervous system by performing intraoperative neuromonitoring during various procedures, including cardiothoracic, neuro, orthopaedic, spine, vascular, and others, reducing the risk of neurological injury. This involves the placement of stimulating and recording electrodes and operation of an intraoperative neuromonitoring machine to collect data throughout the procedure and inform the surgeon of changes. You will monitor surgical cases in operating theatres throughout the entire duration of procedures, along with pre- and post-operative duties. If you join as a trainee, full practical and theoretical training will be provided, supported by mentoring and seminars as well as independent study.

You will be responsible for providing services primarily in and around London.


Your responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring techniques for a variety of surgeries, including applications in spinal, supratentorial, brainstem, and vascular.
  • Perform and interpret a range of intraoperative investigations.
  • Produce clinical reports.
  • Dailymunication with teammates/seniors.
  • Liaise with consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • What you'll need to succeed :

  • Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field such as nursing, neuroscience, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Good knowledge of anatomy, preferably neuroanatomy, gained from study or practical experience, as a nurse, ODP or clinical specialist.
  • Candidates with experience in intraoperative neuromonitoring or working as a clinical neurophysiologist are preferred, but this is not a pre-requisite.
  • Previous experience in neurophysiologic techniques such as TMS, NCS, EMG, and EEG.
  • The ability to adapt and succeed in a highly skilled clinical environment.
  • Experience in theatre or labs is highly desirable.
  • Proactive individual who works well independently and as part of the team.
  • Eager to learn and continuously improve their knowledge and skills.
  • Focus on clinical quality and deliver the best results for patients.
  • Excellentmunication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Fluent in English.
