The Role

:
The purpose of the Workshop Mechanical Technician is to service, maintain & repair company fleet of diesel-powered compressors, steam generating plant, booster pumps, heat exchangers, fluid monitoring safety systems and ancillaries.

This position could also be an opportunity to become an Offshore Engineer.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain company equipment in line with company procedures and industry best practice
  • Fault find and investigate performance issues & repair in line with industry best practice
  • Pack and load out company equipment in line with company procedure and guidelines
  • Maintain a professional and courteous approach to colleagues and customers at all times
  • Follow company HSEQ policy and identify areas for improvement
  • Be available for regular overtime to meet periods of high demand
  • Interpret & compile job service cards to determine level of service and identify opportunities for engineering improvements
  • Ability to supervise Trainees and Junior Technicians and freely impart knowledge & experience to develop our inclusive “One Team” philosophy

Who we are looking for:
Due to the nature of this role, we will require individuals to hold an NVQ Level 2 / 3 in mechanical maintenance or similar qualification in the maintenance of industrial plant and equipment.

Applicants working towards an engineering qualification with experience carrying out maintenance and overhaul of industrial / marine / offshore systems, Installation testing of industrial screw type air compressors and industry recognised training in hydraulics / rotating equipment / diesel engines.

Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent with experience of maintenance and operation of pumps / valves / manifolds / hoses.

Self-Motivated to succeed and drive quality of workmanship with a professional attitude and ability to discuss technical issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • OEM Diesel Compressor Training
  • Counterbalance/Fork truck
  • Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
  • UKOCS Offshore Certification
  • ASME Plant Inspection
  • PSSR Regulation Inspection
  • Industrial & Offshore Steam Plant & Boiler Systems
  • CAT Diesel Engine OEM Experience / Training
  • Extensive knowledge of Industrial and marine diesels would be advantageous.
  • Offshore & Marine Maintenance Equipment Operator
