As part of a new capital investment project, Multimatic has established a new dedicated facility to manufacture carbon fibre reinforced components for the premium automotive industry. This brand new facility incorporates an extensive list of new equipment and facilities to enhance Multimatic’s leadership in this field.

Together with being part of a start-up venture, this is an exciting opportunity for anyone who desires hands-on experience with components destined for high performance vehicles, advanced composites and has a passionate interest in automobiles.

Due to this new facility, Multimatic is looking for a Materials Controller to join the successful team at Huntingdon.

Address: Multimatic, Unit B2, 18 Glebe Road, Huntingdon, PE29 7DL.

Duties include:

Monitor component use, identify stock requirements.

  • Management of stock control, including good housekeeping, to ensure that the inventory is accurate at all times.
  • Optimise consignment stock and component levels to effectively manage cost controls.
  • Ensure that part/material usage is controlled to minimise wastage.
  • Identify parts to replace obsolete/unavailable items
  • Creating/updating stock spreadsheets to manage stock
  • Document new procedures.
  • BOM (Bill of materials) control
  • Manage equipment manuals and electronic reference data.
  • Represent the department during external audits.
  • Any other duties relevant to the role.
  • Job Commitments:

  • Monday – Friday 8:00am-5pm, (overtime may be required occasionally)
  • Required experience:

  • Previous experience engineering/stores roles ideally. 
  • Someone who can work independently.
  • Computer literate in Word and Excel.
  • Experience of stores best practice ideally.
  • Strong team worker.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Organised and thorough.
  • Logical thinker.
